I can’t, You can
“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”
Matthew 11:28 (NIV)
Ever get to the point where it is difficult finding time to read your growing “to do” list let alone actually having time “to do” it? Add to that a crisis or two. Then possibly a relationship or choice that has you in a tangled mess. Overwhelmed, hurt, hard pressed to meet deadlines, paying bills…
No wonder alcohol, drugs, and immoral pleasure are at an all time high (pardon the pun). We try to handle the stresses of life with our own strength and reasoning. It then gets to a point that we need some escape, relief, ‘rest’. But finding rest in the wrong way is like dousing a flame with gas, or eating salt to help our thirst.
Hand God your situations, burdens, problems and stresses through prayer. A favorite prayer I have learned to say throughout the day is “I can’t, but You can”.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, give me Your rest in the midst of life’s pressures, help work things out for me. Thank you that I can give burdens over to You in prayer. I can’t do this alone, You do it through me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
