Withholding roadblocks
“Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act” Proverbs 3:27 (NIV)
We don’t always have time to stop our busy schedules to hop on a plane to Kenya and help construct a bridge. But we always have time to give those around us some words of encouragement.
We can battle through the ‘withholding roadblocks’ of “they don’t need a compliment, they are popular”, “they won’t respect my opinion anyway”, “they never go out of their way to encourage me”, “he has it all together, what I say won’t matter”…
Here’s a formula; Be convinced of how special and adored we are by the God of the universe + go past the ‘withholding roadblocks’ + actively look for something good + let them know by written or verbal words = Harvests of inner and outer blessings!
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, get me out of this self-consumed shell in which I tend to live. Help me to enter the harvest field of blessings through selfless encouragement. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
