Take the time to make the time

“Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for Him; do not fret…”  Psalm 37:7 (NIV)

We all seem to be in such a big hurry. That is just the culture we live in. Go from one thing to the next. When something goes wrong, hurry up and correct it. When something is broke, fix it now so that we can get back on the fast track. Our lives become the fast lane of an extremely busy highway.

Time to sit and think, and time to stop and pray can be stressful, because we feel we need to hurry up and get back on the freeway.

We desparately need to “make the time to take the time” to stop, sit before God, talk to Him and think about who we are and what we are doing. If we do this we are put our lives into His hands. It puts the ball in God’s court. He will sit with us and help us understand and make sense of things.

He will also make up for the time we feel we are loosing by stopping. Pull over, get out of our speeding cars, go to a reststop, and wait for God.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, help me to make the time to take the time to be still and wait on You and Your wisdom and blessings. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
