Just a suggestion?
“Show me the way I should go, for to You I entrust my life. Rescue me from my enemies, LORD, for I hide myself in You”Psalm 143:8-9 (NIV)
The book of Psalms is filled with prayers endorsed by God. It’s almost as if He is telling us, “hey, check out these prayers. You guys need to direct them to Me, so that I can take care of you”.
Today’s “suggested prayer” tells us to ask Him for direction, hand our lives over, take care of us, and protect us. Pretty much covers the “whole nine yards”.
What would be the opposite of this “suggested prayer”?… I am going to do what either I feel like doing, or just what I want to do. I have things under control, I’m going to trust my own instincts. I can take care of myself from any adversity, especially if I attack before I get attacked. I will depend on me!
Then mistakes come, bad choices, relationship struggles, sickness, confusion, hardship, and inevitable death. I don’t know about you, but I’m opting for the “suggested prayer”. With all things considered, I’m hiding in God!
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, “show me the way I should go, for to You I entrust my life. Rescue me from my enemies, for I hide myself in You”. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
