Clear
“Put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator” Colossians 3:10 (NIV)
The Apostle Paul talks about the “old” and “new” self in the third chapter of Colossians.
I remember in my college days, after giving my life over to God through Jesus Christ, experiencing a good change in how I viewed school, girls, friends, parents… and just daily living. My thinking was clearer and sharper because I allowed God to help me see life through His eyes. I had a ‘new self‘, and it keeps growing today.
I recently watched a movie called “Limitless”. It is a fictional story of how a struggling man took a pill that helped him use more of his brain. He got smarter when he took the pill and ended up being a success. In one scene he was asked how the drug made him feel. He answered, “Clear”.
God offers clear-minded, effective thinking to us if we hand our minds over to Him by continually asking for His wisdom and by filling our heads with His Words; bible reading, devotionals, sermons, Christian books, discussions with believers…
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, make me wiser and smarter by giving me Your mind. Clean out my bad habits so that my thoughts can be “clear”. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
