Disturbances=Divine Reminders
“These trials have come so that your faith, of greater worth than gold, may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor” 1 Peter 1:6-7
It seems that our goal is to have everything go smoothly. We want enough money, health and good fortune to have a good life for ourselves, family and all those around us. We hate glitches.
We hope and pray that no “disturbances” come our way; an injury, sickness, troubled child, job issues, financial stresses, spouse frustrations or any bad news that disrupts our smooth road.
In God’s economy, He values our faith, or trusting and depending on Him, of much greater than our clear sailing. We have to admit, those “disturbances” drive us to our knees. They raise our awareness of our need for His intervention in our lives. They are DIVINE REMINDERS of His presence.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, help me to value what You value; faith and dependence on You. Get me through the tough times, but use those DIVINE REMINDERS to drive me closer to You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
