The Carwash rail of life

“Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways” Proverbs 4:26 (NIV)

We tend to get into a daily routine and set our lives on autopilot. It’s easy to become mindless and just wait for the next fun event.

I remember going to my first carwash. All I had to do is drive my ’72 Oldsmobile Cutlass front tires up to the rails, put her in neutral and let the spinning brushes do their thing as my car was being pulled through.

I find myself having whole weeks of pulling up to the “carwash rail” of life, putting my brain into neutral, and letting the world around me just happen.

My challenge is to really apply today’s verse by setting aside time to “THINK”. Think through what is going on around us, think about the feeling of those we run into, think of the goals that we use to have, think about how to help others, solve problems, show love to my family and friends…

Set these thoughts to prayer. Set dreams and goals to prayer.

Don’t let texting, ipods, Youtube, TV, movies and surfing the web steal all of your “think-time”.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, remind me to take time to stop and think often. Thank You for the blessings that will follow as You join me in my think -times. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
