“Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power”  Ephesians 6:10 (NIV)

God doesn’t tell us to just be strong. He urges us to be ‘strong’ in Him.

Say there’s an alligator swimming after you in a river (I hate when that happens). The shore is 100 meters away. Let’s say you are given choices;

a) swim as fast as you can

b) hang on to a Jet Ski that just happens to be offering you a ride

c) do nothing and hope that the gator just wants to have tea and chat

God isn’t here to just stand beside us and cheer us on in life. He wants to be our Jet Ski. He gives us His ‘mighty power’ to tap into through prayer, faith and dependence. With every task, relationship, athletic contest, job, problem, crisis, daily routine…ask Him to empower you, work with and through you.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, I need You and Your power to do this life-thing. Help me to be strong in You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
