I can see clearly now, the rain is gone
“Whoever has My commands and keeps them is the one who loves Me. And I will love them and show Myself to them.” John 14:21 (NIV)
Have you ever wondered what Jesus would be like to meet face to face, and actually get to know Him by hanging out together?
The end of this verse indicates that He will ‘show Himself to us’. A friend showed me a simple little quote that has helped me know Jesus more over time.
“LOVE GOD, HATE SIN, SERVE PEOPLE”
-Today’s verse says that keeping His commands shows Him LOVE; attempting to do what’s right, talking to Him in prayer…
-HATE sin by avoiding wrongful actions and words. Staying moral, ethical, and free of gossip, complaining…We will fail, so admit it and pray to change.
-SERVE PEOPLE by giving of our time, encouraging words, acts of service, donating money. Praying for family, friends and others.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, help me to love You, hate sin, and serve others so that I will see You more clearly. Thank You for the amazing side benefits for just attempting to grow in these areas. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
