God is pleading for us to not attempt living our lives in our own strength. Because compared to Him we are so feeble.

True story. I remember back in the 1980’s, I was working at Virginia Tech.  While walking through campus to meet a friend, I stumbled and fell when my toe caught the edge of a curb. As I landed on my side, I swear I felt the ground shake.

Later that day everyone was talking about an earth tremor that had occurred. I couldn’t figure out why I didn’t notice it until I realized that the ground “did” shake when I landed.

In the same way, God can put that much power behind all of our efforts, responsibilities, and relationships. A continual prayer of “I can’t, but You can” and “live through me, Lord” will create the ‘weakness’ that make us ‘strong’!

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, as I strive to live out my life, help me to lean on You more so that You can give my life power, blessing, and meaning. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
