Make every day a masterpiece

“The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever”

1 John 2:17 (NIV)

As we go through our daily routine we need to ask ourselves what our ‘desires’ are and what we are truly trying to accomplish.

Many times I catch myself just getting through my day so I can sit down that evening in front of my favorite sit com or big game. There are also times that I will go through a whole week just yearning for the weekend. My ‘desires’ aren’t really bad, but they aren’t building anything into my life or the lives of others.

Some people get so bored with the routine that those ‘desires’ grow into damaging habits.

The legendary basketball coach and teacher of life principles, John Wooden, said to “make every day a masterpiece”.

Heavenly Father, give me opportunities to encourage and help others. To think of creative ways to impact and enjoy friends and family. To read my bible and to earnestly talk to you through prayer. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
