Use correction

“but he who hates correction is stupid”

Proverbs 12:1 (NIV)

“No one tells me what to do!” is a red flag warning sentence as we evaluate who we chose to be friends with. Correction is hard to swallow for all of us. The key is how we respond to the reproof of others.

Our reflex is to retaliate. To some it’s to just feel sorry for themselves. Here’s the challenge; next time someone corrects you ask God if it is legitimate. Then pray and consider how to change.

If you are really bold, pray that God will bring people into your path this week that will point corrections out to you. I did this challenge once and I was corrected at least 5 times (this was even before I was married!)

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, help me to use correction in my life to fulfill me on the inside and with my relationships. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
